The TasteBuds local food guide come to life this weekend during the 2nd Annual TasteBuds Farm Tour. A $20 car pass allows family and friends to take a self-guided road trip Saturday and Sunday from noon to 5 p.m.
“The TasteBuds Farm Tour is a great opportunity to explore local farms that are not always open to visitors,” says Andrea Jaeger, programs coordinator of Crabtree Farms and TasteBuds Farm Tour organizer. “This is your chance to take a tour with the host farmer, see where your food comes from, and even meet a few farm animals along the way.”
The car pass is good for both days of the farm tour. Participating farms include 4 Oaks Farm, Appalachian Bee, Brady’s Farm Direct, CoLyCo Farm, Crabtree Farms, Dazi Acres, Erma’s Bees, Farms of Avalon Rabbitry, Gifford Farms, The Healthy Kitchen, Lamon Farm, Lavender ‘N’ Rust Herb Farm, Lookout Homestead Teaching Farm, Merryfield’s Farm, Morris Vineyard, The Organic Man, Pickett’s Trout, Red Apple Barn, Red Clay, Tant Hill Farm, Wheeler’s Orchard, Wildwood Harvest.
