Dr. Rishabh Shah has joined CHI Memorial Surgical Associates. Shah earned his medical degree from the University of South Carolina School of Medicine and completed an internship at the University of Washington in Seattle and a general surgery residency at the Cleveland Clinic Florida.
Shah continued his education with an advanced gastrointestinal and minimally invasive surgery fellowship, also at Cleveland Clinic Florida. In addition to general surgery, he will offer weight loss surgery to patients through CHI Memorial Metabolic and Bariatric Care.

Millennium Bank names Brett Johnson CRO, EVP
Chattanooga-based Millennium Bank has named Brett Johnson chief risk officer and executive vice president. Johnson will oversee risk management operations at the bank’s five locations throughout Hamilton County and five additional locations in Lake City, Gainesville and Ocala, Florida.
Johnson’s experience includes 13 years in regulation as a commissioned risk examiner with both the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation and Georgia Banking Departments. He also served as a lender, factoring company manager, special assets officer and a loan review officer.
His banking experience in large, regional and community banks includes First Tennessee Bank, the former Cornerstone Community Bank, National Cooperative Bank in Washington, D.C., and Fuji Bank in Atlanta.
Johnson is a native of Shelbyville and a graduate of University of Tennessee. He is a member of St. Stephens Catholic Church and is active in various community organizations, including the Chamber of Commerce and the Kiwanis Club in Ooltewah.
He is married to his wife of 28 years, Cheri, with whom he has four adult children.
TSBA recognizes education board members
The Tennessee School Boards Association has recognized Hamilton County aBoard of Education members Karitsa Jones and Jenny Hill with Boardsmanship Awards. The Boardsmanship Awards are given for participation in activities outside of local school board obligations.
Hill was presented the Level I Boardsmanship Award at the recent TSBA Southeast Fall District meeting. She was recognized for her board activities in the past year. Level I recipients must total 50 or more training or participation credits.
Hill represents District 6 on the Hamilton County Board of Education. The district includes Brown Academy, Chattanooga High Center for Creative Arts, the Dawn Program, Lookout Mountain Elementary, Lookout Valley Elementary, Lookout Valley Middle/High, and Normal Park Museum Magnet School. Hill was elected to the board in 2018.
Jones was presented with the Level II Boardsmanship Award for her activities in 2018 and 2019. Level II recipients must total 100 or more credits for professional growth activities of school board members.
Jones represents District 5 on the Hamilton County Board of Education. The district includes Brainerd High, Dalewood Middle, Hillcrest Elementary, Lakeside Academy of Math, Science and Technology, Tyner Academy, Tyner Middle Academy, Washington Alternative Learning Center and Woodmore Elementary. Jones was elected to the board in 2014.
