The American Bar Association has appointed Brittany Faith, director at Grant Konvalinka & Harrison, to the advisory committee of its Commission on Immigration. ABA President Mary Smith named Faith to the appointment-only 10-person committee.
The advisory committee provides counsel to the commission in its efforts to ensure fair treatment and full due process rights for immigrants and refugees within the United States, develop and implement immigration-related policy for the ABA, and advocate for changes in the law when necessary.
It also provides continuing education to the bar and the public and creates and assists in the operation of pro bono programs to help vulnerable immigrant and refugee populations.
Since its inception, the Commission on Immigration has had a tremendous impact in immigration advocacy on behalf of the ABA, says Faith.
“It’s an honor to be able to work on national policy that affects immigrants, including my own clients,” Faith says. “I hope my work can make a positive difference in not only the lives of immigrants but also the country as a whole.”
Faith is head of GKH’s immigration practice group. Her practice focuses on employment-based and family-based immigration. She has extensive experience in leadership, including serving as an elected director on the American Immigration Lawyers Association board of governors and president of the Tennessee Bar Association’s Young Lawyers Division.
Faith has received numerous accolades, including the AILA’s 2021 Joseph Minsky Young Lawyer Award, which the organization presented to her for contributions made as a young lawyer in the field of immigration and nationality law. Faith also received a 2019 ABA On The Rise – Top 40 Young Lawyers award.
