Baker Donelson has launched an artificial intelligence team, a multidisciplinary group of attorneys who have experience with AI-based technologies and industry-specific experience.
The firm’s AI team is composed of attorneys from multiple practices, including: technology; data protection, privacy and cybersecurity; intellectual property; labor and employment; health care; and advocacy.
Members of the team work with companies across industry sectors in a range of matters, such as labor and employment, compliance and litigation.
“As the development and use of AI-based technologies continues to expand, companies of all sizes and in all industries are evaluating how AI can help them increase opportunities and improve efficiencies. It’s also important for organizations to assess the potential legal risks and exposure,” says attorney Andrew Droke, head of the team.
“Navigating this complex area requires technological proficiency, legal acumen and an understanding of how our clients intend to use AI technology in their businesses. By creating a cross-functional team that brings together attorneys with considerable AI technology experience and attorneys with specific industry and service area knowledge, we’re able to provide our clients with practical, efficient and effective strategic advice and counsel in an evolving technological and regulatory landscape.”
Baker Donelson’s AI team advises companies that are developing AI-based technologies, as well as those that are deploying these tools and looking to understand the legal implications and risk mitigation strategies.
Members of the team have assisted organizations of all sizes with establishing policies and procedures, developing contracting strategies and addressing requirements regarding bias and non-discrimination, and provided counsel on intellectual property, privacy, data use and information security considerations.
