ANSWERS
1. Alabama. 2. Chicago, Ill. (for fear of over-cooked food). 3. Kansas. If anyone knows how that’s accomplished, will you please let me know? 4. Hartford, Conn. 5. Colorado. 6. Colorado Springs, Colo. 7. Washington. This law was set up to curb the increasing crime rate in the area. Needless to say, it has not helped. 8. I know most of you probably chose Mississippi (only because of all the cotton fields), but actually this dumb law is from North Carolina. 9. Arkansas – Little Rock to be exact. Sec. 18-54. Sounding of horns at sandwich shops. No person shall sound the horn on a vehicle at any place where cold drinks or sandwiches are served after 9:00 p.m. (Code 1961, § 25-74). 10. New Mexico. 6-1D-2: EXPECTORATING ON SIDEWALKS OR IN PUBLIC BUILDINGS: It is unlawful for any person to spit or expectorate upon any of the public sidewalks, crosswalks, passes, byways or paths in the city, or upon the floor or steps of the public building, store, hotel, church, opera house, office room, schoolhouse or any other building in the city in which persons are in the habit of frequenting, assembling or congregating. (Ord. 748, 8-12-1985) 11. That would be Oklahoma. 12. Maybe I shouldn’t have printed this one! I know a lot of you guys are thinking it needs to be in all 50 states, but actually this is only a law in Tennessee. Sorry, guys.
