Hood named new Erlanger Health System Foundations chair

The Erlanger Health System Foundations board of directors named Lynda Hood its chair for fiscal 2019. Hood is the executive director of the Chattanooga Bar Association.

Erlanger Health System Foundations also announced new board members for the same fiscal year. CBA member Mark Ramsey, an attorney with Spears, Moore, Rebman & Williams, was included among them.

The other new board members are:

  • Deborah Elwell Arfken, Ed.D., Interim president and CEO, Siskin Children’s Institute
  • Syamal Dave Bhattacharya, M.D., pediatric surgeon, University Surgical Associates
  • Hiren Desai, CEO, 3H Group
  • Christy Gillenwater, CEO, Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce
  • Candy Johnson, MPA, independent consultant, Johnson Consulting
  • Alan Kohrt, MD, FAAP, assistant dean of faculty development, UTC College of Medicine
  • Lesslie Lee, Jr., president and CEO, Lee-Smith, Inc., and Lesco, Inc.
  • Haresh Patel, M.D., anesthesiologist, Anesthesiology Consultants Exchange, PC
  • Charles Woods, M.D., chairman of the Department of Pediatrics, UTC College of Medicine, chief medical officer, Children’s Hospital at Erlanger

Erlanger Health System Foundations is the philanthropic arm of Erlanger Health System.

Through the “Believe” campaign, Erlanger Health System Foundations has been key in helping the system raise funds to build the new Children’s Hospital Outpatient Center, which is scheduled for completion in December 2018.
