Clarence Kolwyck, Chattanooga attorney, is slated to take a prominent part in the 83rd annual meeting of the American Bar Association, which officially opens Monday in Washington, D.C. He is chairman of the ABA section on “family law,” one of 18 sections of the Association.

Monday, August 29
Leslie H. Templeton has been named general superintendent of the department of public works, with authority over all divisions, Commissioner Pat Wilcox announced Monday.

Tuesday, August 30
Local attorney Manly A. Watson Tuesday announced he is a candidate for Congress in the November election. He asks the chairmen of the 11 county executive committees in the Third District to endorse him as the Republican nominee.

Wednesday, August 31
Enrollment in the city schools Wednesday was 80 more than on the first day last year. There were 23,926 students reported at the city schools.

Thursday, September 1
Cyrus Griffin Martin, vice-president of the American National Bank and Trust Company, retired Thursday after more that 38 years of service with the financial institution.
