Dr. Wendolyn Davis is the new executive director of Pathway Alignment at Chattanooga State Community College. The three-year, grant-funded position will focus on creating pathways to high-demand, higher-wage careers within the local service area. Davis will report to the college president Dr. Rebecca Ashford.
“Dr. Davis’ work will be critical to the college reaching its vision that 5,000 Chattanooga State students of every race and income level will earn a credential leading to a pathway to a family-sustaining wage.”
Davis comes to Chattanooga State from the University of Tennessee at Knoxville, where she led transfer student recruitment and transfer evaluation and operations.
Her previous experiences also include workforce development and helping students overcome barriers to achieving academic and career goals.
Davis holds a doctorate in organization and management and an MBA in human resource management.
Erlanger welcomes Fowler, promotes Lord
The Erlanger Foundation in August welcomed Kathleen Fowler as development coordinator and promoted Samantha Lord to director of development – annual giving.
Fowler joins the Erlanger Foundation from Athens, Georgia, where she attended the University of Georgia and earned a Bachelor of Arts in public relations and a Master of Public Administration. She also completed a graduate specialization in nonprofit administration.
As a graduate student, Fowler worked as a student fellow with the Athens Area Community Foundation, managing the Nonprofit of the Year award process and working with the board of directors.
Fowler also held a graduate research assistantship for two years with the Carl Vinson Institute of Government, where she assisted in conference coordination, research and report writing.
As development coordinator, Fowler will focus on e-philanthropy, work with the Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and Corporate Partners program, as well as the special events program, serve the Erlanger Foundation board of directors as board liaison and support the foundation president.
Lord moved to Chattanooga to attend the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga to pursue a Bachelor of Science in business marketing.
While attending undergrad at UTC, she began an internship as an Erlanger Scholar within the compliance department, where she learned the complexities of HIPAA, patient safety and information security for a health care organization. Lord is currently pursuing a Master of Business Administration.
Lord returned to Erlanger in 2022 as development coordinator before taking on her current role as director of development – annual giving. In this role, Lord will manage the annual giving programs for the giving societies, such as the 1891 Society and the Queen and Crescent Society, as well as employee and physician giving, e-philanthropy and direct mail.
Campbell assumes post at Erlanger
Erlanger has tapped Dr. Adam Campbell to serve as chief of quality and patient safety.
In this role, Campbell will oversee the development and implementation of initiatives to enhance education, safety, data analytics, patient experience and accreditation at Erlanger.
Before joining Erlanger, Campbell was director of clinical improvement and analytics at the Children’s Hospital of The King’s Daughters in Norfolk, Virginia, and director of clinical policy and analytics at Shriner’s Hospitals for Children.
Campbell is also an associate professor at the UTC’s College of Medicine and an adjunct professor for the Haslam College of Business’ Physician executive MBA program at the University of Tennessee at Knoxville.
Campbell received his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Cincinnati, his Master of Science in experimental psychology from East Tennessee State University and his doctorate in cognitive and neural sciences from the University of South Florida.
He also studied at the University of Amsterdam in the Netherlands on a postdoctoral fellowship.
Parkridge selects Johnson for board of trustees
Parkridge Health System has selected Soddy-Daisy city manager Burt Johnson to serve on its board of trustees. Johnson is a graduate of UTC, a certified public accountant and a certified municipal finance officer. He began his career with the city of Soddy-Daisy in 2011 and currently holds the positions of city manager, finance director and city recorder.
Before his work in local government, Johnson worked for Joseph Decosimo and Company. He currently serves on the North Hamilton County Council of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce board.
N. Neighborhood House elects new board members
Northside Neighborhood House in August inducted several new appointments to its board of directors. Under the leadership of board president Cynthia Reagan, the agency welcomed Kristin Copeland of EPB, Chad Goodman of HHM Certified Public Accountants, Victoria Love of Victoria Love Creative, Katie Penny of Food City and Amy Stone of Acumen Wealth Advisors.
Northside Neighborhood House works to address the needs of individuals and families living north of the Tennessee River by providing a “hand up” through education and assistance.
