Johnny Green, Chattanooga champion aviator, had another accident today. His machine fell to the ground near the boulevard. He was not injured, but the plane was damaged considerably. He was testing it out for his series of flights scheduled for the Tullahoma Fair.
Miss Helen Hood entertained with a “spend the day” party at her home in Highland Park in honor of Miss Mamie Hartwig, who leaves to enter the University of Tennessee soon. Her guests were Misses Gladys McKenney, Louise Bradford, Vashti Bradford of Nashville and Frankie Henderson.

Miss Elizabeth Hallee of Somerset, Ky., is the guest of Mrs. H.L. Fancher on McCallie Avenue.
Ethan Bixby came Friday from Idaho to visit his father before going to Culver Military Institute in Indiana.

Miss Whitlow Betterton and Miss Isabelle Alsup will enter school in Boston this fall.
Miss Mary Steward will go to Waldens Ridge today to spend two weeks at the Steward cottage.
Miss Adelia Goodrich entertained with a box party at the Majestic Theater in honor of Miss Miriam Cary of Jasper, Ala. Her guests were Louise Weatherford, Marian Wills, Marie Merriam of Rome, Ga., Elizabeth Fry, Margaret Donelson, Julia Stagmaier, Mary Barrows, Gladys Mayfield, Jane Goodrich and Gladys Johnson.
Tuesday, Aug. 27
Mrs. Thomas O. House has returned to her home in Knoxville after a visit to Mrs. Morrow Chamberlain on Lookout Mountain.
Miss Margaret Anderson is the guest of Mrs. Nathan Bachman on Walden’s Ridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Henry Voigt entertained with a dinner party in honor of Mr. and Mrs. Ed Scott of Chicago and Miss Mary Voigt of Jeffersonville, Ind., at their home on Lookout Mountain.
Prof. Leslie L. Stauffer has returned from a European trip, arriving on the S.S. New York. He will return to Chattanooga in time to take up his work at the University of Chattanooga.
Wednesday, Aug. 28
Theodore F. King, an active businessman, has organized a warehouse and storage company and will erect a large and modern plant at once. Known as the Chattanooga Cold Storage and Warehouse Co., the capital stock is $50,000. Mr. King will be the president of the new company. The incorporators are W.A. Sadd, Frank Spurlock, C.A. Lyerly, F.W. Lupton and T.F. King.
Midshipman Thomas Latimore is home from Annapolis and is the guest of his parents, Mr. and Mrs. T.C. Latimore at Daisy.
Mrs. T.W. Stanfield entertained at her home in North Chattanooga with a heart-dice party for Miss Miriam Carey of Jasper, Ala.
Miss Evelyn Armstrong entertained at her home on West Fifth Street with an informal musical in honor of Miss Elizabeth Sallee of Somerset, Ky., the guest of Dr. and Mrs. H.L. Fancher. Miss Frances Thatcher, Winifred Stivers and Cecil Bean were heard in several numbers. Twenty guests were present.

Mrs. Carl Dixon and little daughter, Evelyn Virginia, have returned from a visit to Rev. and Mrs. J.M. Carter in Arlington, Va.
Friday, Aug. 30
Postmaster General Hitchcock is busy organizing and setting up the department of parcel Post. The plan is to have the department ready for new service by Jan. 1, 1913.
Miss Margaret Pritchard has returned from a visit to relatives in North Carolina.
Carl Smith, Misses Bessie and Mary Lea Smith will move soon to their new home on the corner of East End and McCallie.

Mrs. George Campbell has returned from a visit with Mrs. Renae Woolford on Walden’s Ridge.
Mr. and Mrs. John S. Handley and daughters have returned from a 10-day stay at St. Simons Island.
Miss Marie Burke has returned from a visit to Tunnel Hill, Ga.
Harry Sims, who has achieved wonderful success in YMCA work, has accepted a similar position with the Association in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Mr. Sims has resigned and will have a month’s vacation before leaving to prepare for his new work. He will sail Sept. 20 from Brookfield, Mass. for South America.
Lt. G.W. Spears of Annapolis, who has been on a summer cruise, will come from Maine to visit his parents, Col. And Mrs. W.D. Spears on Lindsay Street.
