Saturday, August 19

Seventy-four members of the Chattanooga Boys’ Choir were enrolled for their annual summer camp, held for the first time at Dogwood Lodge, on Opossum Creek near Soddy Daisy. Stephen Ortlip is director of the choir.

Monday, August 21

Approximately 95,000 persons have visited the Hamilton County Park on Chickamauga Lake through July this summer. The beach area has been averaging about 1,000 a day for weekdays and about 5,000 a day on weekends.

Tuesday, August 22

Plans to develop a “one story” marina at a cost of more than $500,000 on Chickamauga Lake were announced Tuesday by Robert A. Schwartz, Nashville attorney representing a group of Nashville and Chattanooga businessmen. The location is a 28-acre tract on the southwest shore of Millers Grove embayment, southwest of the junction of Hixson Pike and Hamby Road, adjoining Lakeside Land Company’s subdivision.

Harry J. Bolwell, general manager of the Chattanooga Division, Combustion Engin-

eering Inc. has resigned effective September 15, to accept a position as corporate vice-president of Midland-Ross Corporation of Cleveland, Ohio.
