Chambliss, Bahner and Stophel recently added three associate attorneys – Andrew Mutter, Kelly Etchells and Nate Kinard – to its growing litigation and risk management practice.
“We are very pleased to welcome these talented attorneys to our litigation team,” says Bill Dearing, chair of Chambliss’ litigation and risk management practice. “Andrew, Kelly and Nate are all extremely bright and are outstanding individuals with unique experiences that will prove valuable to our clients.
“Both Kelly and Nate will help us further expand our products liability offerings, and Andrew is playing a critical role in developing our cybersecurity practice.”
Before joining the firm, Mutter practiced law at King and Spalding, an international firm based in Atlanta, in the business litigation group where he developed specialties in cybersecurity and policyholder insurance recovery. As a general commercial litigator at Chambliss, he focuses his practice on corporate insurance coverage disputes, cybersecurity issues, class actions and high-stakes litigation.
Mutter has helped clients recover millions of dollars in insurance proceeds through mediation and litigation. He also serves as co-chair of Chambliss’ cybersecurity group, representing and advising clients in regulatory, utilities, data privacy and security matters. He proactively reviews clients’ risks and insurance policies in order to obtain the best coverage for their particular business needs, whether under directors and officers liability, commercial general liability, professional liability and cybersecurity insurance programs.
Mutter received his law degree from the University of Virginia School of Law after teaching as a corps member of Teach for America in the Mississippi Delta. He graduated magna cum laude from Vanderbilt University with a bachelor’s degree in English and Religious Studies.
Etchells represents Chambliss clients ranging from individuals to large businesses in a variety of commercial litigation matters, including contract disputes, product liability, personal injury and real property disputes. Etchells joined Chambliss after practicing at Alston and Bird, an international law firm based in Atlanta, where her practice focused on product liability defense.
After graduating second in her law school class from the University of Georgia School of Law, Etchells served as a law clerk in Jacksonville, Florida, for the Hon. Marcia Morales Howard on the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Florida. She graduated summa cum laude with a bachelor’s degree in English and in political science from the University of Georgia.
Kinard practices as a trial and appellate litigator. His practice spans complex business litigation, construction design and defects, torts, intellectual property, products liability, estate litigation, and federal and state appeals. He started his career in Fairbanks, Alaska, as a law clerk for the Honorable Andrew Kleinfeld on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit.
Kinard graduated from William and Mary Law School, where he tied for first in his class. He received his bachelor’s degree in piano performance and political science from Vanderbilt University. He is the second attorney fluent in Spanish hired in recent years.
