Miss Gertrude Oehmig left Friday for Nashville to visit her aunt, Mrs. Terhune. She will be accompanied home after a week’s visit by Miss Jessie Hines of Rome, Ga.
Sunday, July 14
Mrs. C.R. Baird entertained with a card party Saturday at her home on McCallie Avenue in honor of her house guest Miss Aldine Patterson of Springfield, Mo., and Miss Frances Thatcher. Her guests numbered 24.
Monday, July 15
Mrs. S.A. Martin entertained with a spend-the-day party at her home in North Chattanooga in honor of Miss Minnie Freylock of Dalton, Ga., the guest of Miss Nan Martin. Miss Nell McNabb will entertain this evening in honor of Miss Freylock.
Miss Ethel Wilcox entertained with a porch party in honor of Miss Betty Lawrence of Birmingham, the guest of Miss Sue O’Rear. Twenty-four guests were invited.
The Loomis & Hart Manufacturing plant has reopened after a recent disastrous fire. Mr. A.J. Gahagan is president, J.D. Gahagan, vice president and plant manager, C.H. Ballew is engineer, and H.C. Arnold secretary and treasurer. The plant has an unbroken record of 47 years. It was established at the close of the Civil War and has continued through floods, fires and panics. They are still the “Makers of Good Furniture,” and justly proud of their success.
Miss Katherine Kauffman entertained informally at cards in honor of her guest, Miss Mary Dillard of Washington, Ga. Her guests were: Misses Dorothea Snodgrass, Blanche Snodgrass, Myrilla Annis, Bertha Whitney, Grace Shackleford, Ernie Nixon and Nell Wright.
Mrs. Dunbar Newell and children have returned from visiting relatives in Newellton, St. Joseph and Baton Rouge, La.
Misses Alice Huffaker and Lalla Belle Keese spent the weekend at Mineral Park Springs.
Mr. and Mrs. Thomas Moore, who were recently married at Colorado Springs, will spend a month with Mr. and Mrs. John Chambliss. They are planning to make their home in Chattanooga. Mr. Moore is a brother of Mrs. J.B. Sizer.

Gaither Jones of Beaumont, Texas, is spending a few days in Chattanooga. He is a guest at the Hotel Patten.
Miss Elizabeth Morris of Virginia, who has been visiting Mrs. Frank Nelson on East Fourth Street, is now the guest of Mrs. T.F. Sanford on Lookout Mountain.
Miss Jean Gordon of New Orleans will speak today at two o’clock in the Green Room of the Patten Hotel at a meeting of the Consumers League and the Equal Suffrage members. The public is invited. Miss Gordon will be the guest of Mrs. D. P. Montague during her stay in Chattanooga.

Misses Louise and Grace Glover entertained with an informal tea Wednesday in honor of
their house guests Miss Ruth Evans of Indiana, Miss Margaret Simmons of Knoxville and Miss Lesley Garner of Nashville.
Miss Margaret Donelson will leave today for a visit with relatives and friends in Middle Tennessee.
Miss Irene Nash left Monday for a two-week’s stay with friends in Morven, Ga., and Jacksonville, Fla.

Miss Grace Shackleford entertained at her home at the foot of Missionary Ridge with a bridge party for Miss Mary Dillard of Washington, Ga., who is the guest of Miss Katherine Kauffman.
Miss Mamie Lou Hall of Jasper is visiting Miss Louise Spears on Lindsay Street.
Mrs. L.M. Dabney of Dallas, Texas, is the guest of Capt. Hutcheson and Mrs. E.Y. Chapin on Walden’s Ridge.
