Since its incorporation, North Chattanooga will have its first election today for Mayor and Commissioners. J. Read Voight is expected to be the first mayor. Commissioners expected to be elected are W. Sherman Beck, E.E. Gannaway, J. Reed Voight, Fred Robinson and W. H. Payne. The polls are open from 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. in a tent at Mississippi and Main Streets.
Sunday, July 4
Pollack Boyd, 14-year old son of Mr. and Mrs. J. Kent Boyd, was the winner of the Lupton Cup in the golf tournament by defeating D.S. Henderson.
Mr. and Mrs. Guy Campbell are entertaining Mr. and Mrs. Charles Thompson and Mr. and Mrs. John Jeffords for the weekend at their home on Lookout Mountain.
Miss Jennie Lee Bowen of Chickamauga, Ga., is visiting Miss Clara Frances Connelly.
Misses Agnes Caulkins, Sara Heggie and Gladys Rice have gone to Wright’s Mineral Springs for a stay.
Mr. and Mrs. Fred Bryan and Mrs. Stephen Poughton have returned from Chicago. Mr. and Mrs. Bryan have sold their farm in Red Bank and will move to the city this week.
Monday, July 5
Seven movie theatre managers were arrested because of failure to obey the “Blue Law.” Pete Block, Royal Theatre; M. H. Silverman, Ninth Street Theatre; H.M. Lusk, Picto; F.H. Dowler, Jr., Alcazar; C.T. Bobo, Bonita; Howell Graham, Majestic, Crescent and Alhambra; W.S. Howell, Lyric. They will appear before Squire Lawrence Tuesday at 9 a.m.
Mrs. T.C. Olney has gone to Walden’s Ridge to visit Mrs. S. Bartow Strang.
Tuesday, July 6
Miss Aileen Goree of Atlanta is visiting Mrs. J.M. Lanier and Mrs. P.P. Wisdom on Missionary Ridge.
Misses Tillie Ragon, Mary Belle Thomas, Lillian Rutledge and Messrs. Frank W. Caldwell, H.M. Caldwell, and Lewis Gibson have returned from Wright’s Mineral Springs.
Mrs. Lapsley Hope and baby spent the weekend with Mrs. Filmore Gibson on Lookout Mountain.
Wednesday, July 7
Mr. and Mrs. C.E. Buck left Monday for an extended trip that will include New York, Niagara Falls and the Canadian Rockies.
Misses Eleanor and Peggy Williams were hostesses to a dancing party at their home on Walden’s Ridge Tuesday night. Thirty young people were invited. Fruit punch and an ice course were served.

Mrs. Henry Eager and son, Henry, Jr., are guests at Rhea Springs.
The Chattanooga Boat and Rowing Club will have an organizational meeting tonight at 121 Market Street. Officers will be elected and the club will be incorporated. The incorporators will be C.L. Mourfield, Corbin Woodward, W.A. Woodlief, S.W. Maples, and W.B. Duff. Plans will be made for a semi-annual Regatta.

Mr. and Mrs. Alan Kelley of South Pittsburg, Tenn., are guests of Mr. and Mrs. R.C. Campbell.
Mrs. Homer D. Cogdell of Atlanta is visiting her parents Mr. and Mrs. Judson Buchanan on Missionary Ridge. Mrs. Cogdell is the former Miss Evelyn Buchanan.
Misses Fanny Gay and Hester Ann Farrier of North Carolina will come next week to visit Mrs. T.F. Sanford on Signal Mountain.
