The Helen Ross McNabb Center will welcome the first class of its Therapeutic Preschool program in the fall.
The program will provide early intervention services to children ages 2-5 who have been abused or neglected or experienced trauma of any kind.
Children enrolled in the center’s Therapeutic Preschool program will attend three hours per day, three days per week for 10 weeks. During this time, the children will learn to identify emotions and how to express them in everyday situations.
The children will also learn how to identify safe adults to utilize in a time of crisis.
The Helen Ross McNabb Foundation raised the funds that made the Therapeutic Preschool program possible. Contributors included the United Way, First Horizon, UNUM and private donors. The foundation also secured grants from the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga and the Robert F. Stone Foundation.
