The “Liberty Bell” has arrived in San Francisco and was greeted by a tumultuous throng. Top-hatted reception committees, police, guards, and station porters were swallowed up. The Bell will be installed in the Pennsylvania Pavilion at the Panama Pacific Exposition Sunday.
Misses Marjorie and Charlotte Atlee will entertain with a picnic party today at their home on Walden’s Ridge.
Mr. and Mrs. Carroll Stegall, formerly of Chattanooga, who have been living in New York will sail July 26 on the Fabre liner “Roma” for Lisbon, Portugal en route to Central Africa where they will serve as missionaries under the Presbyterian Church of United States.

Miss Elizabeth Manker of Chicago is the guest of Miss Edith Isabelle Patten who entertained with a luncheon in her honor. Covers were laid for 12.
Monday, July 13
News of the reelection of T.E. Patterson as sovereign manager of the Woodsmen of the World at a meeting in St. Paul, Minn., was announced today. Mr. Patterson is a former resident of Chattanooga.
Tuesday, July 20
Miss Frankie Henderson will return Friday from Peabody College in Nashville. Miss Thelma Bush of Dallas, Texas, will arrive this week to be her guest.
Messrs. Charles Tomlinson and Charles Stivers have gone on a trip to Niagara Falls, Toronto, Canada, and Detroit, Michigan.
Dr. and Mrs. N.C. Steele and Miss Katherine Bynum are guests at Mineral Park Springs.
Wednesday, July 21
Dr. Cooper Holtzclaw and daughter, Mrs. T.C. Thompson, Jr., and children, will go to Atlantic Beach for a vacation.
Miss Bess Frater has returned from a visit to Miss Dorothy Colvin at Shepherd, Tenn.
Dr. and Mrs. T.E. Abernathy and son, Edward, are now in Charleston, S.C. and will go later to Asheville, N.C.
Miss Elizabeth Mills of Spring City will come next week to attend a house party on Walden’s Ridge given by Miss Stewart Anderson.
Thursday, July 22
The Tennessee Division of the Women’s National Rivers and Harbors Congress is meeting in Chattanooga to discuss the improvement of waterways. Mrs. Hortense McDonald is state chairman of education.
Misses Sarah Postlethwaite and Amy Thompson will leave this week for a stay at Wrightsville Beach.

Miss Esther Green is the guest of Mrs. Sim Perry Long at Mabbit Cabin on Walden’s Ridge.
