Keller Williams Realty Greater Downtown has announced its agents raised more than $20,000 for the Chattanooga Area Food Bank during its RED Day campaign.
Widely known as RED Day, this annual day of service took shape in May 2009 encouraging agents to “Renew, Energize and Donate” to their communities.
In those 12 years, Keller Williams Realty has sponsored several community organizations including the Humane Society, the Chambliss Center for Children, Howard High School, and last year they partnered with United Way to offer cleanup for victims of the Easter tornado.
In 2021, agent leaders chose to partner with The Chattanooga Area Food Bank. The organization serves a 20-county region and approximately 7,000 square miles. The food bank reported that one in five people and one in four children face hunger as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic’s economic impact. With their resources, The Chattanooga Area Food Bank can provide four meals for every dollar raised. Keller Willams set a lofty goal to provide 60,000 meals in 30 days.
“Many of our agents donated. Others invited their customers and clients to participate alongside them,” says Hope Brazzell, CEO and co-team leader of the Keller Williams Downtown office. “It was fun to watch our agents get competitive around such a worthwhile goal!”
At the end of the fundraiser, agents provided over 84,000 meals to the Chattanooga Area Food Bank. Among the top contributors were the Kelly Jooma Team and the Nathan Torgerson & Christina Lane Team raising $9,072 and $3,370 respectively.
