Magnolia Trust Company has hired Brent Taylor as its business development and strategies director. Magnolia is an independent trust administration with offices in Chattanooga and Atlanta.
Taylor will foster new and existing relationships with high-net-worth and ultra-high-net-worth individuals and families, business owners and intermediaries.
Taylor has more than 20 years of experience in the financial services industry. He most recently served as business development officer and director of foundations and endowments for CIBC Private Wealth Management.
Taylor earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of North Carolina and an MBA in finance from Georgia State University. He also holds a Certified Financial Planner certification.

Trust for Public Land promotes Peterson
Community engagement specialist and advocate Daniela Paz Peterson is now the Tennessee program director for belonging strategies for the Tennessee office of Trust for Public Land.
In the role, Peterson will drive programs that encourage inclusion and belonging throughout TPL’s initiatives in Tennessee. This involves fostering relationships with local organizations, government agencies, nonprofits, the arts community and neighborhood leaders to create inclusive environments.
A native of Chile, Peterson holds a degree in social work from Pontificia Universidad Católica de Valparaíso. She joined TPL as a creative placemaking fellow in 2018 and most recently served as the agency’s community strategies senior adviser.
Her achievements include the East Lake Free Family Photo Day, a project offering professional photographs for families in their local park, and the Park Listeners Program, which focused on community input in park planning.
Peterson’s work has gained national recognition and earned her numerous awards, including the Footprint Foundation’s Footprint Award (2019), La Paz Chattanooga’s Latino Leadership Award (2017) and TPL’s Will Rogers Fellowship.
She serves on the boards of La Paz Chattanooga, ArtsBuild, the Chattanooga Area Regional Transportation Authority and the Community Foundation of Greater Chattanooga.
“Working alongside the Chattanooga community to connect more families with the benefits of parks and public spaces has been my profession and passion for years,” says Peterson. “I’m honored to accept this new role with TPL and eager to find ways to continue the work we’ve begun in Alton Park, Oak Grove and other neighborhoods.”
