Alnoor and Gina Dhanani will co-chair Siskin Children’s Institute StarNight 2019 gala. Alnoor is the president and CEO and Gina is COO of The Double Cola Company. Cannella appointed to WWTA board
Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger has appointed Alice Cannella to the board of the Hamilton County Water & Wastewater Treatment Authority. The Hamilton County Commission has approved the appointment.
Cannella is a retired professional engineer with 36 years of experience with both Hamilton County and the City of Chattanooga in the wastewater field. From 1981 until 1990, Canella worked for Hamilton County Engineering. She became the system engineer in 1991 and was later promoted to Moccasin Bend Sewer Treatment Plant superintendent. Before her retirement in 2014, she served as director of waste resources for the City of Chattanooga.
Cannella received a Bachelor of Science in civil and environmental engineering from Tennessee Technical University and Master of Science in engineering management from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.
She is filling the unexpired term of John McPherson, who resigned to spend more time with his family.
Sculpture Fields names chair
Sculpture Fields has named artist and patron of the arts Carolyn Kaufman chair of the board of trustees.
Kaufman studied art history at the University of Michigan and home and interior design at the University of North Carolina. In addition, she cataloged the Art Institute of Chicago’s American art collection and led the summer art camp program at the Hunter Museum of American Art.
She also served as vice president and gallery designer of In-Town Art Gallery and event coordinator for Gallery 1401. Kaufman has exhibited in Nashville’s Local Color Gallery and served as a juror for the Athens Area Council for the Arts.
Surgeon joins Heart Institute
Cardiothoracic surgeon Alan Simeone has joined the Chattanooga Heart Institute at CHI Memorial. Dr. Simeone received his medical degree from Eastern Virginia Medical School in Norfolk. He completed a residency in general surgery at Wake Forest Baptist Health in Winston-Salem, and a residency in thoracic surgery at the Medical University of South Carolina in Charleston.
Simeone completed a trauma and surgical critical care fellowship at Yale University and a cardiopulmonary transplantation and mechanical circulatory support fellowship at Duke University Medical Center.
He is board certified by the American Board of Surgery and the American Board of Thoracic Surgery.
