The 31st annual Spring Garden Tour, sponsored by the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County, will take place Saturday, June 2, 10 a.m.-6 p.m. and Sunday, June 3 from 1-6 p.m. This year’s tour features the McCoy Farm & Gardens plus four private gardens located on Signal Mountain.
Tickets are $20 and can be purchased at any of the gardens on the tour. Tour proceeds will benefit educational programs sponsored by the Chattanooga Area Food Bank and the Master Gardeners of Hamilton County. Information
EPB Strawberry Festival
Fresh strawberries will be in abundance for the EPB Strawberry Festival on Sunday, June 3 at the Chattanooga Market. Several farms will be offering strawberries galore, including Flat Top Mountain Farms, Hazelrig Farms, Watsonia Farms and Red Clay Farms.
Miller’s Lemonade will feature the strawberry version of their namesake drink, Daylillies will offer a fresh strawberry salsa and Noke’s Granola will be selling a berry-blend granola. Bitler Bistro will offer four berry-themed desserts and Simply Southern Bakery will have strawberry breads and baked goods on hand. The Chattanooga Market is open Sundays 11 a.m.-4 p.m. at the Tennessee Pavilion.
Foster care information night
Chambliss Center for Children, 315 Gillespie Road, will host a foster care information night on Tuesday, June 5, 6-7:30 p.m. Free onsite parking and child care will be available. RSVP to 423 693-2580 by Friday, June 1.
More than 1,000 children are in state custody in Hamilton and the surrounding counties. These children have been removed from their homes primarily because of abuse, abandonment, or neglect. Chambliss Center for Children contracts with the state to find stable foster homes for these youth.
Atlanta Braves road trip
The Atlanta Braves will visit Chattanooga in June as part of their new Braves Country Road Trip. The stopover will feature a youth clinic with Braves alumni on Friday, June 8 followed by a free public event at Coolidge Park on Saturday, June 9.
The public event will include games, a virtual reality tour of SunTrust Park, photo opportunities, game ticket giveaways and free food. Meet and greets with Braves alumni will round out the weekend. Information
Candace Golf Classic
The Chattanooga chapter of the National Coalition of 100 Black Women will host its Candace Golf Classic fundraiser on Tuesday, June 12 at Windstone Golf Course with an 11:30 a.m. lunch followed by a 1 p.m. shotgun start. The cost is $125 per player. The NCBW provides academic scholarships to high school seniors.

Jan Croon book signing
Editor Jan Croon is touring Georgia to discuss and sign copies of “The War Outside My Window: The Civil War Diary of LeRoy Wiley Gresham – 1860-1865.” The Fort Oglethorpe event will be from 1-5 p.m. Saturday, June 16 at Chickamauga Chattanooga National Military Park. Summer fashion show
The NCBW’s Summer Fashion Show will be held Saturday, June 23 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. A vendor showcase opens at 9:30 a.m. The show begins at 11:30 a.m. Fashion show tickets are $50 each.
