Hamilton County Sheriff Jim Hammond (left) and City of Chattanooga Police Chief Fred Fletcher (right) say they’re looking forward to working together to combat crime in the city and county.
“We’ll be spending some personal time together to figure out which issues are important to both of us,” Hammond said during a meet-and-greet Tuesday.
Fletcher, who was capping a whirlwind week in Chattanooga before returning to Austin, Texas, where he’s served in a variety of law enforcement leadership roles for 12 years, said he’s anxious to starting working on the safety and security of Chattanooga. He did not annouce the date he would be assuming his duties.
