Parkridge East Hospital names Burris CEO




Caroline Burris is the new chief executive officer for Parkridge East Hospital. Burris comes to Parkridge East from HCA Florida Ft. Walton-Destin Hospital, where she has served as chief operating officer and ethics and compliance officer since 2022.

Burris has been with HCA Healthcare since 2009 and has served in roles, including a four-year term as associate administrator and co-ethics and compliance officer for TriStar Summit in Nashville. She has also served as chief operating officer and ethics and compliance officer of HCA Healthcare’s The Women’s Hospital of Texas in Houston.

Burris earned an MBA from Northeastern University following her undergraduate studies at Belmont University in Nashville.

She has served on numerous civic and faith-based boards and committees, including those whose work focuses on women’s health.

YMCA welcomes new CFO Pierce, CMO Bell

The YMCA of Metropolitan Chattanooga welcomes Jordan Pierce as its new chief financial officer and Marissa Bell as its new chief marketing officer.

Pierce joins the Y with a background in financial management and strategic planning. During his seven-year tenure at Electric Power Board (EPB), he served as manager of financial reporting and rates, assistant controller and corporate accountant.

While at EPB, he played a role in overseeing the budget process and financial reporting for a $1 billion balance sheet. His contributions extended to designing and implementing rate and pricing mechanisms for both electric and fiber optic customer bases.

Before his work at EPB, Pierce honed his skills as an accountant at Mauldin & Jenkins.

Pierce holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in accounting and finance from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga as well as an MBA from Mississippi State University. He is a certified public accountant and a graduate of the UTC Executive Leadership Program.

Additionally, Pierce contributes his expertise to the EPB Employee Credit Union Audit Committee and the Tennessee Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Bell brings more than 13 years of communication experience to her role as CMO at the Y. Her background spans public relations, marketing, digital media, broadcasting and crisis communications. Previously, she led a team at Waterhouse PR focused on business development and marketing across various industries.

Bell’s prior work experience includes marketing and communications roles at Chattanooga Tourism Co. and the Chattanooga Mayor’s Office.

Bell’s community engagement includes her involvement with Girls on the Run of Southeast Tennessee and as a Chattanooga Chamber board member. She is chair-elect of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) Lookout Chapter and is accredited in public relations from PRSA.

Bell holds a degree in communications from the University of Tennessee and a master’s in corporate and organizational communication from Northeastern University.
