Skate Station rolls into Chattanooga

A skater strikes a pose with a disco ball under the dome of the Chattanooga Choo Choo.

This summer, the sound of rolling wheels and retro beats will echo beneath the grand dome of the Chattanooga Choo Choo as Skate Station, a roller skating pop-up by Dazey Skate Company, transforms the space into a hub of motion, music and nostalgic charm.

Running from May 31 to Aug. 2, the 10-week pop-up will convert the historic Choo Choo’s iconic dome building into a marble-floored indoor rink.

Skate Station welcomes skaters of all ages and skill levels, with rental skates available from toddler size 7 to adult men’s size 13. Guests can also bring their own gear. For those new to skating, the venue offers learn-to-skate workshops and “skate helpers” to keep beginners steady on their feet.

Throughout the summer, themed skate nights will bring a rotating calendar of events to the rink, including Swiftie Night, Pride Skate and other community celebrations. Live DJs will perform each Saturday night.

Admission is $10 per person, with optional add-ons for skate rentals and safety gear. The space is also available for private party rentals.

Located at 1400 Market Street in downtown Chattanooga, Skate Station will be open Thursdays from 2-9 p.m., Fridays and Saturdays from 2-10 p.m. and Sundays from 2-7 p.m. (Skate Station will be closed Monday-Wednesday.)

Sponsors for Skate Station include Little Debbie, Village Volkswagen and Audi Chattanooga, Hamilton County Parks and Recreation Department, Hits 96.5 and Sunny 92.3.
