The Tennessee Association of Juvenile Court Judges was organized here Friday. The purpose of the organization is the promotion of efficiency of Juvenile Court, a better public understanding of them and support of legislation toward those ends. Hamilton county Juvenile Curt Judge Burrell Barker was named president.
Sunday, May 15
Mrs. Sam Smartt, Gerry U. Stephens, James Waterhouse and Dr. George Cox have joined the Chattanooga Symphony Maintenance Fund Drive as sub chairman. They were appointed by the fund co-chairman Joseph H. Davenport, Jr., and Everett Allen. This year’s maintenance fund target is $35,000.
Monday, May 16
Central High School’s faculty gave a farewell tea at the school Monday honoring Mrs. John A. Shelton and Miss Lillie Schwartz for their many years of service.
Thursday, May 19
Brenda Lisle, Red Bank High junior, was top International Medical Awards winner in the girl’s division at the National Science Fair in Indianapolis, last week. The American Medical Association plaque she won for her school, was presented formally to the school in chapel exercises Wednesday.
