The Tennessee Bar Foundation has extended the honor of becoming a fellow to Chattanooga attorneys C. Douglas Dooley and David McDowell.
The purpose of the TBF is to recognize attorneys who have distinguished themselves in the community and the profession and to administer a grant-making program.
That project, Interest On Lawyers’ Trust Accounts, has awarded more than $25 million in grants to law-related public interest projects throughout Tennessee.
Dooley is a civil litigation attorney and an equity member with Leitner, Williams, Dooley & Napolitan. He’s a graduate of the University of Alabama and Cumberland School of Law and has been practicing law in Chattanooga for 34 years.
McDowell is a civil litigation attorney and a member with Gearhiser, Peters, Elliott & Cannon. He’s a graduate of Furman University and the University of Memphis School of Law and has been practicing law in Chattanooga for 18 years.
The Tennessee Bar Foundation is an association of 840 attorneys from across the state. Its board of trustees extended invitations to membership to 27 attorneys.
The introduction of new Fellows took place April 14 during the annual Fellows’ Dinner at Loews Vanderbilt Hotel in Nashville.
