GCAR welcomes new director

The Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors has hired attorney Christy Gibson as director of commercial services and governmental affairs.

Gibson will serve as staff support to GCAR’s commercial council, keeping its members up-to-date on industry issues – including commercial listing data, MLS rules, advocacy efforts and legislative issues impacting commercial real estate.

Gibson will also monitor and advise on political, legislative and regulatory issues affecting the association, its members and the real estate industry, advocate the Realtor position to elected officials, manage the Realtors Political Action Committee (RPAC)’s fundraising efforts and candidate interviews and educate members on the role of the Realtor Party and the importance of voting and investing in RPAC.

Gibson comes to Chattanooga from Nashville, where she worked as the sections and committees coordinator of the Tennessee Bar Association for seven years.

Prior to that, Gibson worked for the general counsel of an Arkansas commercial real estate developer and contributed to a mayoral campaign in Jonesboro, Arkansas.

Gibson holds a degree in political science, a master’s degree in public administration from Arkansas State University and a J.D. from the Nashville School of Law.

Gibson says she’s looking forward to following the Chattanooga Lookouts and enjoying the local restaurant scene.

She can be contacted at 423 702-7428 or christy@gcar.net.
