The National Association of Realtors (NAR) has extended Realtor Emeritus status to an icon of Chattanooga real estate: Peggy Pryor, owner of Coldwell Banker Pryor Realty.

To be granted Realtor Emeritus status, one must be a member of the NAR for a cumulative period of at least 40 years. Pryor, who served as president of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors in 1987, earned her real estate license in 1974 and founded Pryor Realty in 1978.

She became a Realtor in part to help provide for her family and then launched Pryor Realty to give agents a place where they could do business ethically and be treated fairly. Pryor says she owes the success of her company to these people, and will only take the credit for having good hiring skills.

She also tells the Hamilton County Herald she’s looking forward to many more years of service to her customers and her profession.
