The Chattanooga Chapter of the American Inns of Court raised $23,851.50 in December to support the Children’s Advocacy Center, continuing an annual tradition of giving back to vulnerable children and families in the region.
The funds were raised through a charity auction held Dec. 12 that brought together local judges and attorneys who bid on donated items and made individual contributions. This marks the third consecutive year the local Inns of Court chapter has supported the Children’s Advocacy Center through its end-of-year fundraising efforts.
“We’re thankful for the generosity of the IOC and its members,” says Lisa Moore, director of external affairs at CAC. “Their support allows us to continue offering critical services to children and families affected by abuse, including forensic interviews, advocacy, medical care, trauma-informed therapy and prevention education.”
Founded in 1991, the center has served more than 32,000 children, offering services free of charge and tailored to families from all backgrounds. It is nationally accredited by the National Children’s Alliance.
Robin Miller, president of the Chattanooga Inns of Court and Clerk and Master of the Hamilton County Chancery Court, says the Inns of Court is honored to support the CAC for a third year.
“Giving back to organizations that make a meaningful impact in our community is an important part of who we are.”
More than 200 local lawyers and judges are part of the Chattanooga Inns of Court, which is dedicated to advancing ethics, professionalism and civility in the legal field.
