Rain might have cut the golf tournament portion of the Greater Chattanooga Association of Realtors’ Tee up and Wine Down event at Black Creek Golf Club on Monday short, but it didn’t dampen anyone’s spirits for the wine tasting and auctions that followed.
Despite the unexpected precipitation, the event raised funds that will support the efforts of Habitat for Humanity as it strives to build a Chattanooga in which everyone has access to adequate housing.
Hamilton County Mayor Jim Coppinger, radio personality Gary “Dr. Basketball” Haskew, Chattanooga Symphony Conductor Kayoko Dan, and other local celebrities poured samples of wine while attendees vied to win more than 50 silent and live auction items.
Carol Seal, CEO and executive vice president of GCAR, says it was a thrill to watch the event come together over the last several months. “Tee Up & Wine Down took a lot of time, effort, and dedication from a long list of volunteers, all of which culminated in exceeding our fundraising goal,” she said. “The event brought together our members and the community to support Habitat, which does so much to change lives in Greater Chattanooga.”
