Noontunes is moving to a new time and location for the 2018 season. Sponsored by Tennessee Valley Federal Credit Union, Noontunes is a weekly midday music series that previously took place inside the Waterhouse Pavilion in Miller Plaza.
When Noontunes returns for a third season in September, the 10-week showcase of local musicians will occur in the new Miller Park.
With the $10 million renovation of Miller Park scheduled to be completed in July, the new space will accommodate food trucks and larger crowds and offer high visibility for performances on the stage of the EPB Pavilion.
Artist applications to perform at Noontunes are available at www.NoontunesCHA.com.
During the 2017 season, Noontunes featured artists like Lew Card, Swayyvo, Megan Saunders, Gino Fanelli, Husky Burnette, Magic Birds and D.L. Yancey, among others. Over 30 musicians performed for audiences that averaged nearly 180 people per show and drew about 98,000 live stream views.
Each performance will be open to the general public free of charge, live streamed and recorded and aired later on WUTC 88.1. Each live performance will have a host who discusses the artist’s background and song selection.
The first performance is scheduled for Wednesday, Sept. 5 from noon-1 p.m.
