Two trucks loaded with water left Cartersville, Ga., arrived March 6-7 at the local Budweiser wholesaler, Perry Distributing in Allen, Ky., with 4,312 cases of water (or 103,488 cans) to assist the Red Cross. Another truck will arrive at Budweiser of Cookeville in Cookeville, Tenn., with 2,156 cases of water (or 51,744 cans) to assist area relief workers and agencies.
“Relief workers and people in the community are in need of fresh drinking water as they work to recover from the tornado, and this is one way Anheuser-Busch and our local wholesaler can help,” said Peter Kraemer, vice president of Supply for Anheuser-Busch.
Since 1988, Anheuser-Busch has donated more than 71 million cans of drinking water following natural and other disasters.
Helping communities cope with disasters has been an Anheuser-Busch tradition since 1906 when Adolphus Busch made a donation to victims of the San Francisco earthquake. Today, in addition to providing monetary support, Anheuser-Busch packages fresh drinking water and donates it to emergency relief organizations for distribution to those in need.
