The Chattanooga Airport has awarded Hoar Construction the contract to design and build its $25 million, four-level, 1,300-space parking facility.
The team also includes local architectural firm MBI Companies, American Structural Concrete, International Parking Design and Culp & Tanner Structural Engineers.
Construction will begin in the coming months and is anticipated to be complete within a year.
The parking garage is one of multiple projects in direct response to recent and expected growth. In 2019, 554,050 passengers boarded flights at the Chattanooga Airport, resulting in a record-breaking 10% increase over 2018.
In addition to parking improvements, the airport is planning the largest expansion to the passenger terminal since its opening in 1991. Airport officials expect work on the expanded terminal to begin in 2020.
