Throughout his career, Moorehead has been involved in several professional societies, including the American Society of Civil Engineers, the American Council of Engineering Companies of Tennessee, ACEC Southeast Tennessee and the American Society of Highway Engineers.

He served as the ASCE Tennessee Section Chattanooga Branch president and later served as the ASCE Tennessee Section president. He’s currently serving as the vice president of the board of directors for ACEC Tennessee.

Moorehead is also a 2014 graduate of Leadership Chattanooga.
