The Read House is celebrating its 150th anniversary with the “Throughout the Decades Dinner Series,” which will feature era-inspired meals.
The Read House’s historic menus, as well as cookbooks from each era, were used to design each course for the series.
The series begins March 26 by paying homage to the culinary scene of the 1960s and 1970s. The May 21 dinner will celebrate the Roaring Twenties, the Aug. 20 dinner will honor the industrial revolution and the turn of the century in 1900. The final dinner, Nov. 12, will pay tribute to the hotel’s opening in 1872.
“Throughout the Decades” will be held in The Read House’s historic Green Room. Each dinner event will begin with a cocktail reception featuring Champagne service and an original J.W. Kelly Whiskey signature cocktail fitting of the era of the evening.
Each era-inspired dinner will feature four courses and include select wine pairings for each course. Dinners will begin with a short historical introduction by The Read House’s historian, Tyler Logue, and following each event, guests will be welcome to tour the hotel’s famous haunted guest suite, Room 311.
Tickets for “Throughout the Decades” are $150 per person, per event. Reserve a seat for the first dinner.
