Attorney Jeffrey Maddux of the law firm of Chambliss, Bahner & Stophel will serve as president of the Mid-South Commercial Law Institute in 2018.
Two additional Chattanooga attorneys are serving with Maddux on the 25-member board. Robert Wilkinson, a Chapter 7 Trustee and bankruptcy attorney with Tom Bible Law, has been elected to serve a five-year term on the Mid-South board. Nick Foster, a trial attorney with the U.S. Dept. of Justice, will serve as treasurer of the institute in 2018.
Regarding his fellow Mid-South board members and officers, Maddux says, “I’m excited about the talent and energy our new directors and officers bring to the board. We’re already working on the 2018 seminar and are making every effort to continue presenting a top-quality program featuring nationally recognized speakers.”
Each year, the non-profit institute conducts an advanced two-day CLE seminar on commercial and bankruptcy law in Nashville. The next seminar, which attracts nationally known scholars, judges and lawyers, will be Nov. 29-30, 2018.
More information about Mid-South and its annual seminar can be found at www.midsouthseminar.org.
