The Public Forum on Obamacare, sponsored by the Disciplinary Council on Judicial Studies, will be held March 21 at the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga from 5-7 p.m. The meeting will take place in the Chattanooga Room in the University Center.
Distinguished panel members will include William M. Barker, retired Tennessee Supreme Court chief justice; Dr. Clif Cleaveland; Tony Hullender, general counsel, BlueCross BlueShield of Tennessee; and Dr. Bruce Hutchinson, UTC economist and representative of Chattanooga Associated Health Underwriters. The moderator will be the Honorable W. Neil Thomas III.
The public forum will not advocate for or against the law, but rather educate the public on the multiple issues related to the constitutionality of the legislation.
Panel members will present discussions on the legal, medical, insurance and economic aspects of the legislation.
The forum is scheduled to precede three days of argument in the U.S. Supreme Court on the constitutionality of the Obamacare legislation.
