The first move in American National Bank and Trust Company’s previously announced plan to raze its present head office building and erect an 18-story banking, office building and parking complex, will be made this weekend, John Wright, president announced. All departments of the bank will be moved into temporary quarters until the new building is completed.

U.S. District Judge Frank W. Wilson, is in line for promotion to one of the two additional seats on the U.S. Court of Appeals for the 6th Circuit just authorized by Congress.
Monday, March 14
Brooks Atkinson, Pulitzer Prize winner and internationally known drama critic, will give the fifth annual Keese Lecture at the Univ. of Chattanooga March 22, at 8 p.m., in Patten Chapel. The Keese lectures were established at UC in 1962 by W.S. Keese, Jr., in honor of his father, W.S. Keese, Sr., and in memory of his mother, the late Lucy Beall Keese.
Tuesday, March 15
Campbell Clinic began work on a $400,000 expansion program which will enlarge it to near 100-bed size and with a number of improvements bring it to third place in size among the city’s hospitals. The new three-story addition will face Oak St. and connect with the existing unit that faces McCallie Ave.
Seven branch offices for the issuance of 1966 Tennessee automobile licenses were opened today by County Court Clerk David M. Ramsey. Sites for the branch offices are East Ridge, Town Hall; Eastgate Shopping Center, Brainerd Village Shopping Center; Red Bank Masonic Bldg.; Davis Hardware Store in Alton Park; No. 14 Fire Hall in St. Elmo, and Lookout Valley Utility District office in Tiftonia.
Wednesday, March 16
Mayor Ralph Kelley said he has received word the Federal government will authorize the immediate reopening on a temporary basis of the closed exit ramp from I-24 at McBrien Road. The closing of the ramp several weeks ago brought strong reaction by many persons in the Brainerd area and protests from both city and county officials.
Thursday, March 17
Commissioner Turner proposed to the City Commission the purchase of four fire engines of 1,000-gallon capacity and a 100-foot aerial ladder on the recommendation of his fire department staff. The estimated total cost is $210,000.
Henry Sorrell was named captain of the 1966 Univ. of Chattanooga football team and Don Shaver was named co-captain at a meeting Wednesday afternoon. The Moccasins will start spring practice April 19.
Friday, March 18
Tennessee cows on Dairy Herd Improvement Test have steadily made production gains in the past 20 years. Now, for the first time, Tennessee DHIA cows have an average production of over 409 pounds of butter fat. Exact figures for the test year just completed by 435 herds from all parts of the state show an average of 9,960 pounds of milk and 404 pounds of butter fat per cow. Thus, the average production for these cows is more than twice the average for all dairy cows in Tennessee.
