Newsmakers: Journey Health Foundation bolsters leadership




Journey Health Foundation has hired Denise Dye and promoted Jasmin Rippon.

Dye joins Journey Health as vice president of Pathways Data Hub. She brings more than 30 years of experience in data management and analytics to the position, through which she’ll work to advance data-driven initiatives to improve public health throughout Hamilton County.

Dye will oversee the development of a community-based care coordination system to support local health workers and address disparities in healthcare. Specifically, she’ll build new partnerships with community-based organizations, direct the delivery of care coordination services and manage the operational aspects of the Pathways Data Hub.

Dye earned a degree from Covenant College and previously served as chief information officer, chief operating officer and program director of Hospice of Chattanooga.

Rippon will assume the role of vice president of development. She has a history of enhancing annual net revenues, including leading a $2.6 million capital campaign and facilitating a seven-figure donation for the Trust for Public Land’s Tennessee office.

Rippon has also served in development roles at Siskin Children’s Institute, the Home Builders Association of Southern Tennessee and Chattanooga’s Kids on the Block.

She’ll lead the development and implementation of fundraising campaigns, build donor relationships and explore new philanthropic opportunities.

Rippon holds a degree in communications from Michigan State University. Her community service includes volunteering with Leadership Chattanooga, the Chattanooga Nonprofit Alliance and the Chattanooga Women’s Leadership Institute, among others.

Journey Health Foundation was formed in 2021 from the sale of Hospice of Chattanooga and Alleo Health. The foundation aims to build data-driven systems that promote healthy communities.

Erlanger welcomes Drs. Rose, Pua

Board-certified family medicine doctors Matthew Rose and Zynia Pua are now practicing at Erlanger.

Rose is a board-certified family medicine physician with Erlanger Primary Care – Volkswagen Drive. Born and raised near Atlanta, Rose earned a master’s degree in cellular and molecular physiology at Georgia State University. After a brief stint in laboratory research, Rose decided to pursue a career in medicine and graduated from the Philadelphia College of Osteopathic Medicine.

Rose completed his family medicine residency training at Erlanger while affiliated with the University of Tennessee Health Science Center College of Medicine in Chattanooga. His clinical interests include preventative medicine, lifestyle medicine, chronic disease management, acute care, office procedures and LGBTQIA+ medicine.

Pua has been providing medical care to Chattanooga residents for 13 years. Originally from Chattanooga, she is a Girls Preparatory School graduate. She earned a degree in psychology from the University of Chicago and a master’s degree in community health from the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Following her graduate education, Pua received her medical degree and completed a family medicine residency at the University of Alabama School of Medicine.

After completing her residency, Pua became the CEO of All-Care Family Medicine and acted as the solo family practice physician and business owner. She then joined Doctors Med Care of Jacksonville and Rainbow City in Alabama, where she practiced urgent care, treated patients for chronic conditions and oversaw the nurse practitioners.

Pua then returned to Chattanooga, where she practiced internal medicine at multiple locations. She joins Erlanger Primary Care in Ringgold.

HCS names director of early learning

Hamilton County Schools recently named Kimberly Pringle as its new director of early learning. Currently the principal at Snow Hill Elementary School, Pringle will begin her new duties on June 24.

HCS’ director of early learning is responsible for supporting Pre-K teachers, creating cohesion

between Pre-K and K-12 education, and working with community partners to improve pre-kindergarten opportunities for all Hamilton County children.

Now in her eighteenth year of public education, Pringle has spent the past five years as principal of Snow Hill. Her career also includes three years as a high school teacher, six years as an elementary teacher and three years as an assistant principal.

Pringle holds a Master of Education Degree in leadership from Trevecca Nazarene University, a master’s degree in education from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a degree in music education from Middle Tennessee State University.

Siskin appoints new director of nursing

Siskin Hospital for Physical Rehabilitation has appointed Vicky Anderton, RN, as director of nursing of its Subacute Rehabilitation Program.

With over 40 years of nursing experience, Anderton came to Siskin Hospital eight years ago to experience the subacute side of nursing. Since her interim appointment in January, Anderton has increased patient access to Siskin Subacute West.

The subacute program at Siskin West provides patients with an interdisciplinary therapy program that’s less intensive than traditional comprehensive inpatient treatment.
