Saturday, February 29

Ethan Bixby, a Chattanooga boy, will appear at the Majestic Theatre Monday in the musical comedy “The Isle of Ginger.” One of the songs sung by Miss Hazel McGinnis is “Stop in Chattanooga.”

Sunday, March 1

Gen. Baxter Smith brings to Chattanooga, for the time being, the headquarters of the Forrest Cavalry Corps of the U.C.V. Smith is now the highest ranking officer. He succeeds Gen. H.A. Tyler of Hickman, Ky., who resigned because of ill health.

Fred Graf, the popular third baseman of the 1913 Lookouts, reported last night for this season. He was the second player to sign his contract for the new season.

Mr. and Mrs. G.R. Barnes announce the engagement of their daughter, Esther, to Mr. Paul W. Shepherd. The wedding will take place in April.

Monday, March 2

Meyers Jewelry announced an elaborate showing of the newest and much sought jewelry made from crushed rose leaves, including rose beads, necklaces, and lavalliers in numerous designs with a delicate rose fragrance.

Tuesday, March 3

Mrs. Lee Pyron of St. Louis will come this week to be the guest of the Misses McClure.

Miss Charlotte Patten left for Atlantic City to join her sister, Edith Isabel, for a stay.

Jack O’Donohue was unanimously elected Exalted Ruler of the Elks Lodge No. 91. Major Alf J. Law was advanced to Esteemed Leading Knight.

Wednesday, March 4

Mr. and Mrs. Stephen Doughton have returned from Tate Springs and Knoxville.

Mrs. Fowler of Lewisburg, Tenn., is visiting her daughter, Mrs. David P. Houston, and Dr. Houston.

Thursday, March 5

The Vine Street Orphanage benefit musical will be tonight at the Auditorium. The Eleventh Cavalry Band, The Chattanooga Maennechor, Mrs. W.H. Pryor, Dr. C.A. Garrett, Walter Heasty, Col. C.S. Steward, Mrs. Hugh Brown, Mrs. W.H. Scott, Frank Lewis, and Dr. Ira M. Boswell will appear on the program.

Mr. L.W. Llewellyn and Misses Louise Llewellyn, Elise Chapin, and Genevieve Montague arrived in New York from Europe, and will return home this weekend.

At the Southern Shoe Retailers Convention in Birmingham, Mr. J.D. Kelso of Chattanooga was elected first vice president of the convention.

Friday, March 6

Miss Muriel Kelly of Sweetwater, Tenn., is visiting Miss Helen Blomeyer.

Mr. and Mrs. W.A. Sadd and daughter, Margaret, left this morning for New York and other Eastern points.
