Harris, a resident of Hixson, Tenn., will be reading from her children’s book, “Raoke and the Camp Raid,” at Belvoir Christian Academy, located at 800 Belvoir Avenue, from 9 a.m. to 10:30 a.m. In “Raoke and the Camp Raid,” Raoke, a raccoon, is faced with a tough decision: Will he remember the lessons his parents taught him, or will his friends pressure him into stealing food from the humans?

Unique antiques
Take in the Houston Museum Antiques Show & Sale, coming to the Chattanooga Choo-Choo’s Centennial Hall Feb. 24 and 25 from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., and Feb. 26 from noon to 4 p.m. A special preview brunch with early buying privileges will take place Friday from 8:30 to 10 a.m. The event will feature more than 30 well-known dealers who display and sell antique furniture, glass, ceramics, paintings, prints, linen and jewelry. Opera to perform “The Marriage of Figaro”
Lee University Opera will present Mozart’s “The Marriage of Figaro” for three performances on Feb. 24 and 25 at 7:30 p.m. and Feb. 26 at 3 p.m. in the Dixon Center. Composed in 1786, Mozart’s Figaro is one of the most-performed operas worldwide and considered one of the composer’s greatest works. The musical narrative boasts a multifaceted love story of infatuation, jealously and satire. The cast will perform the four-act opera in English. Tickets may be purchased at the Dixon Center Box Office, open Monday through Saturday from 3-6 p.m. and one hour before each performance. Tickets are eight dollars for adults, five dollars for seniors and three dollars for students.

Let’s plant something together
In an ongoing effort to promote community and school gardening in Chattanooga, Crabtree Farms is offering a 4th annual Community Garden Start-up Workshop on Feb. 25 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. The interactive workshop will teach the basics of community gardening, from site planning and building, to growing vegetables and raising community support. Currently, there are over 25 sites in Chattanooga that provide a place for people to grow together, and more are sprouting each year. 15 hours of free flapjacks at IHOP!
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals and IHOP restaurants will celebrate National Pancake Day from 7 a.m. to 10 p.m. IHOP will be offering a free short stack of its buttermilk pancakes to each guest and, in return, diners will be asked to leave a little something behind for T.C. Thompson Children’s Hospital.

First Neighborhood Cup
Chattanooga Sports Ministries will host the Neighborhood Cup, an inter-community youth soccer tournament to be held at the new Highland Park Commons. The Neighborhood Cup is open to teams of boys and girls between 10 and 13 years of age, with boys and girls playing in separate divisions. Mountain bike demo day
East Ridge Bicycles will host a free mountain bike demo from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at Enterprise South Nature Park. Giant Bicycles will bring a trailer of bikes for people to try for free. The Jewish Cultural Center is hosting an exhibition of paintings, photographs and prints titled “A Sense of Place” at its gallery at 5461 North Terrace Road. Gallery hours are Mondays through Thursdays from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Fridays from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. through March 16.
