Each year, the Homebuilders Association of Greater Chattanooga has worked to make its Tri-State Home Show bigger than ever. This year, however, the association is actually going for smaller.
For the first time, tiny houses will be featured at the show, including one by Tiny by Design, a Tennessee-based company led by Dale Geist. He says his capstone product, the DS 400, is unlike any other tiny home.
“The tiny house market has not taken into consideration small families or retirees looking to downsize their lives,” he says. “The DS 400 model is the answer to that need in the tiny house market.”
Geist is bringing the DS 400 to this year’s Tri-State Home Show, to take place Friday, March 13 through Sunday, March 16 at the Chattanooga Convention Center. The showroom will be open Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tickets will cost $7.
Seniors will receive $2 off the ticket price on Friday. Wheelchairs will be available for their use. Attendees who bring a canned good will receive $1 off the price of admission. Children ages 16 and under will get in for free.
The tiny homes won’t be the only attraction. Vendors at a record 500-plus booths will be displaying the latest home products and services for the home, including kitchens, lighting, landscaping, windows, doors, roofing, siding, garage doors, and more.
There will be home products for purchase as well, and attendees will be able to talk with a remodeler or builder about their home project or new home design.
“Home remodeling is at an all-time high. Whether you’re looking at remodeling your home or building a new dream home, you can come to the home show and see the latest products and services,” said Teresa Groves, executive director of the Homebuilders Association. “You can also talk to a remodeler about your remodeling project or a builder about building your dream home.”
Children activities will include rolling video games, a balloon brigade, hugs from the Ice Princess, Lookout Looie, and the cast of “Star Wars,” and more.
