The Trust Company of Tennessee has promoted Zach Hurst to vice president and managing director of its Chattanooga office.
Since joining The Trust Company in 2017, Hurst has served as a certified financial planner and relationship manager. In his new role, he will oversee the firm’s Chattanooga office while continuing business development.
Hurst is a graduate of Western Carolina University and holds a Master of Education from the University of Georgia. He also holds the Accredited Investment Fiduciary designation and participates as a speaker for The Trust Company’s Retirement Plan Academy webinars.
His volunteer activities and board memberships include the Chattanooga Regional Homeless Coalition board of directors, Planning Council of Chattanooga, UTC Planned Giving Advisory Council, Mountain City Club board of governors and Forest Hills Cemetery board of directors.
McKamey has new director of animal care
McKamey Animal Center has selected Suzanne D’Alonzo as its new director of animal care. D’Alonzo comes to MAC with over 20 years of animal welfare experience, including four years spent at the Humane Society of the United States developing and implementing best practices for animal shelters nationwide.
Medical Society installs Baleeiro as president
The Chattanooga-Hamilton County Medical Society has installed Dr. Carlos Baleeiro as its 2021 president. Baleeiro is a pulmonologist with CHI Memorial Lung Care Associates.
Other officers are Dr. Marijka Grey of Common Spirit Health, president-elect, and Dr. Kelly Rodney Armstrong of Clinica Medicos, secretary-treasurer.
Baleeiro says the Medical Society will continue to support the community through the COVID pandemic in 2021.
He also hopes to continue the society’s long-standing work to focus on the dangers of smoking and vaping.
Boys & Girls Clubs appoints 3 to board
The Boys & Girls Club of Chattanooga has appointed Matthew Brandon, vice president of PlayCore Surfacing Group, Kyle Eiselstein, partner at Miller & Martin, and Quincy Jenkins, executive director of diversity, equity and inclusion at Chattanooga State Community College, to its board of directors.
Brandon has been with PlayCore since 2008. He also serves on the Friends of Outdoor Chattanooga board of directors.
Brandon is a graduate of Auburn University, where he earned a degree in business administration.
Eiselstein is vice-chair of the litigation department at Miller & Martin. He concentrates his practice in the area of civil litigation, with an emphasis on complex commercial disputes.
Eiselstein graduated from Florida State University with a degree in economics and holds a juris doctor from the University of Tennessee College of Law. Previously, he was a faculty member of The McCallie School and is the past president of its Alumni Council.
Before joining Chattanooga State, Jenkins served as the director of Hispanic-Latino outreach at Dalton State College. He graduated from the University of Tampa with a degree in Spanish language and literature and holds a Master of Arts from Illinois State University in foreign languages, literatures and linguistics.
Jenkins is pursuing a Doctor of Education in organizational leadership and learning from Vanderbilt University.
