Newsmakers: CBL CEO joins First Horizon advisory board




CBL Properties CEO Stephen Lebovitz has joined the advisory board for First Horizon Bank –Chattanooga. Stephen succeeds his father, Charles Lebovitz, who served as a member of the board for 36 years. Stephen has served as the chief executive CBL since 2010. He’s also served on CBL’s board of directors since the completion of its initial public offering in 1993. His previous roles at the company include head of developments and acquisitions and founding its New England office in 1988. Before joining CBL, Stephen was a financial analyst with Goldman Sachs.

Stephen’s community involvement includes serving as immediate past-chairman of the Chattanooga Chamber of Commerce CEO Roundtable, as chairman of the International Council of Shopping Centers (ICSC) from 2015-2016, as a past trustee and divisional vice president of the ICSC and as a former member of the advisory board of governors of the National Association of Real Estate Investment Trusts.

Stephen is a graduate of Stanford University and holds an MBA from Harvard University.

Morning Pointe names Little accounting VP

John Little is now serving as the senior vice president of accounting for Morning Pointe Senior Living. Little brings 12 years of experience in accounting – including as a hospital accountant, an internal auditor, a business analyst, an accounting manager and a plant controller – to Morning Pointe. He has a master’s degree in data analytics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga and a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Union Adventist University in Lincoln, Nebraska. Little lives in Chattanooga with his wife, Lindsay, and their twin boys, Parker and Grant. In his free time, he enjoys golfing, watching sports and training for triathlons.

Lewis becomes principal of Construction Career Center

Hamilton County Schools has tapped Steven Lewis to serve as the new principal of its Construction Career Center.

Superintendent Dr. Justin Robertson expressed enthusiasm for Lewis’ appointment, saying, “Steven’s educational leadership and hands-on industry experience make him perfect for this role. I look forward to watching him continue to create meaningful opportunities for our students.”

Lewis has served in various roles at Chattanooga Central High School since 2005, including assistant principal, Career and Technical Education lead administrator, athletic director and more. The Hamilton County Department of Education has appointed Lewis to the Truancy Task Force, Leadership Fellows 13 and PLA 7.

Lewis’ hands-on experience in the construction industry includes roles in framing, plumbing and ownership of a construction business.

Lewis holds a Bachelor of Arts in psychology, a Master of Science in school counseling and an education specialist degree in educational administration and supervision.

His vision for the Construction Career Center includes a continued focus on career readiness, industry connections and a positive school climate that supports academic and personal growth.

“I’m thrilled to be part of a team that’s dedicated to equipping our students for successful careers,” Lewis says. “I believe our efforts will not only transform their lives today but will also create lasting opportunities for their future families.”
