Anj McClain, founding director of green|spaces, has passed the executive director baton to Michael Walton. Walton comes to green|spaces from Washington D.C. where he was a project architect and sustainability leader at Perkins+Will and the mid-Atlantic regional team leader of the AIA Committee on the Environment.
Walton grew up in East Tennessee and attended UT Knoxville and ETH-Zurich. His work has won numerous awards and has been published internationally. He has experience integrating sustainable design in single and multifamily residential proper-
ties, commercial architecture, and commercial interiors, and is looking forward to working with the board, staff, and membership of green|spaces to advance sustainable living, working, and building in Chattanooga.
McClain said leading green|spaces over the last few years has been his pleasure: “I have seen such incredible growth in more sustainable building over the last six years, and have enjoyed teaching and learning from you all. Thank you all for your continued commitment to a healthier more sustainable city and world.”
