The soft clack of needles and the whirl of spindles will return to downtown Chattanooga later this month as the Scenic Stitches Fiber Festival makes its second appearance.
Set for Feb. 27-March 1, the Scenic Stitches Fiber Festival will transform the Chattanooga Convention Center into a hub for fiber artists, makers and curious newcomers from across the country. Now spanning three days instead of two, the festival adds an entire extra day of programming and learning.
At its heart, Scenic Stitches is a celebration of fiber arts in all their forms – knitting, crochet, weaving, embroidery, lace-making and beyond. More than 90 vendors will fill the convention center floor, offering everything from yarns and roving to needles, hooks, spindles, beads, notions, bags, fabric, kits and needlework supplies.
For shoppers, it’s a chance to discover unique materials and small businesses from around the country. For makers, it’s an opportunity to stock up, ask questions and connect with the people behind the craft.
Education remains a central focus of the festival. New for 2026 is a full day of classes Friday, Feb. 27, hosted at the Turnbull Building. Instructors are traveling to Chattanooga specifically to teach techniques rarely available locally, giving participants access to specialized instruction close to home.
Introductory offerings include hardanger embroidery, bobbin lace, huck toweling and bibilla, opening doors for those eager to explore unfamiliar corners of the fiber world.
For more experienced makers, advanced classes provide the chance to refine and expand existing skills. Topics range from sock knitting and sweater construction – with a focus on achieving the right fit for both knit and crochet – to graphing techniques for creating custom designs.
Beyond shopping and classes, Scenic Stitches emphasizes live demonstrations, a photo station and other interactive elements.
Tickets will be available online and at the door, with additional details – including class schedules and vendor information – posted at www.ScenicStitches.com.
