Governor Bredesen’s Legal Counsel expands Miller & Martin’s roster
Lateral hire emphasizes firm’s public service traditions and kicks off new year of anticipated lateral hires following record 2010.
Miller & Martin is proud to announce that Junaid Odubeko has transitioned out of his role as Legal Counsel to Governor Phil Bredesen and brought his litigation and government relations talents to Miller & Martin.
“We are extremely proud that Junaid will be joining us and extending the ranks of the firm’s attorneys with unique and invaluable public service experience,” stated Chairman Melvin Malone. “He also personifies and epitomizes the lateral hires that our firm plans to make throughout 2011, following our steady addition of 13 laterals in 2009-2010.”
Junaid Odubeko, who will join the firm as an associate in the litigation department, earned his J.D. from Vanderbilt Law School and his B.A., magna cum laude, from the University of Tennessee.
Prior to joining Governor Bredesen’s administration, Odubeko practiced law at Burch, Porter & Johnson in Memphis, Tenn., where he focused his practice on litigation. After his distinguished service as Deputy Legal Counsel to Governor Bredesen, he was promoted to Legal Counsel and recently completed his 3-plus years of public service in both roles in mid-January.
“Our firm is thrilled to wel-
come Junaid as his versatile experience will bolster our ability to serve our clients when faced with litigation and government relations matters,” said Todd Presnell, vice-chairman of the firm’s Litigation Department.
