Saturday, February 11
Closed for one week to move from the city hall to its new million-dollar health-center on Third Street near Erlanger Hospital, the Chattanooga-Hamilton County Health Department will open for business Monday at 8 o’clock, Dr Paul Golley, director, announced.

Sunday, February 12
Chattanooga’s temperature Sunday soared to 73 degrees, the highest reading recorded at the U.S. Weather Bureau at Lovell Field since November 28. The 73-degree reading, recorded at 4 p.m., was three degrees higher than Miami and six degrees higher than Key West at the same time.

Tuesday, February 14
The City Commission failed to reach a decision Tuesday afternoon on the Southern Coach Lines’ petition for a fare increase. The company claiming continuous losses at present fares of 18 cents for adults, 9 cents for school children and free transfers have asked for 20-cent adult fare, 12-cent school tokens and 5-cent transfers.

Friday, February 17
Complete plans for three chamber concerts, all to be held at the Read House Ballroom, were announced by Music in the Round Associates’ music director Julius Hegyi.
