It might be a rare occurrence, but it’s pretty hard not to notice the two best and most consistent teams throughout the regular season have made it to the Super Bowl.
Both the Philadelphia Eagles and Kansas City Chiefs were the top seeds in their respective conferences this year.
The Eagles had the best record in the league, and the addition of former Titans star receiver A.J. Brown in that infamous draft day trade took a young team that was on the rise after squeezing into the playoffs as a seven seed in 2021 season and transformed it into an NFL superpower.
Jalen Hurts has matured into a standout dual-threat quarterback, becoming much more of a big-play QB that most probably thought was possible.
The Chiefs, of course, have as much firepower as any team in the league, not only because of superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes, but also plenty of offensive weapons, led by tight end Travis Kelce.
This game could come down to which defense plays better and can get more pressure on the quarterbacks. That could put players like Kansas City’s Chris Jones and Philadelphia’s Hassan Reddick in the spotlight for Super Bowl LVII.
While defenses will have a say, don’t look for this one to be 17-13 with all the offensive explosiveness available on both sides.
Prediction: The Eagles have been the team to beat all season long, but Mahomes definitely has the big-game experience, even if his ankle is not 100%. Chiefs 31, Eagles 27.
