The corner of West MLK Boulevard and Market Street is once again aglow with activities, decorations and lights as EPB continues an 80-plus-year tradition with its annual holiday windows display.

EPB employees designed and assembled the installation, which they dubbed “Chattanooga Polar Palooza.”

Select STEM School Chattanooga students worked with EPB employees to wire, program and code various mechanical aspects, including several game signs and a jack-in-the-box.

“The EPB Holiday Windows are a wonderful reminder of the joy this season brings,” says Chattanooga Mayor Tim Kelly. “I encourage everyone to enjoy the lights and support our local businesses as we celebrate the season.”

Parking is available on the street and in the EPB garage.

EPB employees began preparing for the window displays this summer by selecting a theme. Design and construction followed.

“Our holiday windows have come a long way since they advertised war bonds in the 1940s,” says EPB’s Lauren Obermark, who leads the project. “Our team members take a great deal of pride in creating something new and delightful every year for families to enjoy.”

The decorations extend to Miller Park across Market Street, where EPB partnered with the Better Business Bureau of Southeast Tennessee & Northwest Georgia and the city of Chattanooga to build and launch the Festive Forest for the second year.
