Milwaukee-based HKS Holdings has started construction on The Waymark, a Hilton Tapestry Collection Hotel. The long-vacant building, known to many as the Chattanooga Bank Building, will receive a new breath of life, says HKS Holdings Principal Tyler Hawley.
“We were drawn to Chattanooga for its vibrant city life, world-class outdoor attractions and ease of living. The Waymark will open a new chapter in an iconic structure and serve as a social and cultural hub to both locals and travelers. We can’t wait to be a part of this tremendous city.”
Acclaimed Chattanooga architect R.H. Hunt designed the 10-story, 100,000-square-foot building in 1929. HKS Holdings expects to complete The Waymark in summer 2025, says Hawley.
