Erlanger names Chattanooga State nursing faculty Chairs of Excellence

Erlanger Health System recently presented Chattanooga State Community College nursing instructor Heather Akers with the Erlanger Nursing Chair of Excellence for Adults and nursing instructor Lindsey O’Hagan with the Erlanger Nursing Chair of Excellence for Children award.

Erlanger established its Erlanger Nursing Chairs of Excellence program through the Chattanooga State Foundation to recognize faculty excellence in nursing.

Figures from the Registered Nursing Licensure Exam show that pass rates by Chattanooga State graduates on their first attempt are higher than state and national figures, says the school in a news release.

In 2021, the Nursing Schools Almanac named Chattanooga State’s Registered Nursing program the best associate degree program in Tennessee.
